Double your storage space with a two-story barn!
Our #1 question!
In most situations, yes. Permits are the customer's responsibility. Permit requirements vary from town to town so please check with your local town office. Please be sure to tell them that this is a prefabricated item and we are delivering it to you completely assembled. We do not build the structure onsite; we have finishing work that we perform onsite for our larger buildings like the double wides and the 2 stories.
No. All of our Amish sheds, garages, gazebos and horse barns are built by Amish craftsman with years of building experience in Pennsylvania.
Yes, all of our buildings are prefabricated and they come completely assembled, except for the double wide garages and Amish sheds, which arrive in 2 halves, and our 2 story structures, which are finished on your prepared site.
Delivery of our structures varies depending on the season. Our busiest times are late spring through mid October. When you place your order, we will give you an estimate of how long it will take to build and deliver your structure. Delivery times and/or dates are NOT guaranteed. However, we make every effort to adhere to scheduled delivery times/dates unless an unforeseen delay occurs such as equipment failure, route restrictions or inclement weather that could result in unsafe transportation of your structure.
Duratemp, Kiln Dried Board n’ Batten (you won't have to worry about shrinkage like what happens with "green" wood), *Lap, *Log and *Cedar siding.
*There is an additional up charge for Lap, Log and Cedar lap siding
Duratemp siding is a tough, hardwood siding with a weatherproof veneer that will not crack or split. It is created with a 1/8” Douglas Fir composite surface over a durable, solid 100% plywood base, unlike "SmartSide" which is OSB or Chipboard with a brown or silver backing. Duratemp has the beautiful, natural appearance of cedar wood combined with the strength of manufactured siding. Because it is made from real wood, it’s inherently tougher and longer lasting than other similar products, such as OSB and chipboard. It is easy to install and gives the appearance of genuine wood. Our Duratemp plywood siding is easy to paint and holds up wonderfully to rough weather.
With Duratemp plywood siding, you can easily match the color of your structure to your house or garage without worrying about it fading or chipping over time, and you won’t have to worry about constantly repainting.
Duratemp siding has a 50 year manufacturer warranty against cracks, rot, and mold. This is a big bonus for those hoping to invest in the future. Duratemp also withstands normal wear and tear like scuffs, scratches, and hammer marks.
Your Duratemp shed can be fully customized by choosing each color for the trim, siding, and shutters. These sheds come in many styles and sizes, so you are sure to find one to fit your exact needs. All of our Duratemp buildings arrive at your home pre-painted with two coats of paint and ready for your needs.
The majority of our Amish sheds and garages are built with Durtemp siding and our customers are extremely satisfied.
Delivery is included within 30 miles from our sales lot. Beyond that, we price delivery based on distance, and shed size. Structures over 12' wide require special hauling permits as well as an over sized load certified escort. These prices will be included in the cost of the structure.
All of our Amish sheds, garages and gazebos are fully customizable. You choose where you want your windows and doors, and as long as your configuration fits with the size of the structure, no problem! You also choose your siding, trim, shutter and roof colors. Want more? For additional cost, you can add another window, upgrade to a house door, add a loft, workbench, and much more.
Unfortunately, due to liability, we can only move existing sheds if they were purchased from Thee Amish Structures.
The price of moving a shed depends on shed size, distance and accessibility of where the shed is currently and where it's going. Shed moves starts at $350.00
The structure must be within our hauling limits, no wider than 12', no longer then 24’ and no higher at the peak than 10'6".
The shed being moved must be completely empty and if wired for electric or telephone, disconnected from these services. It cannot be anchored to the ground at the time of the move.
WE DO NOT DO SITE CHECKS FOR SHED MOVES
Do some general measuring. If you want to order a 12' wide shed and you only have a 10' wide access point, obviously, this is a problem. If you are still unsure after doing some measurements, we offer free site checks within 30 miles from our location. We check for site access only and not leveling issues. The foundation preparation is your responsibility. We will let you know if the location where you want your structure to be placed is accessible by our truck and trailer. We are known for getting structures into tight spots, using our customized trailer and few tricks of the trade. If a building cannot fit, it may be that it's just too big and a smaller building would fit just fine. Or you may just have to remove a small tree, branch or temporarily move a section of fencing. We'll let you know your options. The customer is responsible for making sure that the site is accessible at the time of delivery. It will be a full sized pickup truck with trailer, up to 32 ft in length. Be aware of mud, overhead branches, wires, overhangs, etc. The clearance on the sides should be at least 14 wide. We also need about 14 ft of height clearance.
We recommend that all Amish sheds, garages and gazebos be placed on an area professionally prepared and leveled with a firm foundation of unwashed crusher run limestone to help prevent warping of your structure over time. A firm, level foundation is very important!
We STRONGLY recommend that 2 story/double wide structures be built floorless for placement on a concrete base and anchored. Of course, we understand that can be an extra expense, so we leave that decision up to the customer. If you decide to place your structure on a concrete pad, please let us know and we will give you the exact measurement for the pad. We recommend a stone pad made with unwashed crusher run limestone, which is a stone aggregate. It must be level and tamped down very firm with a depth of at least " for single wide, single-story structures and 12" for 2 story and double wide structures, with more in low spots so that it is level. The pad should be a foot wider than the dimensions of the structure. A firm, level pad will supply even support and will ensure less settling over time.
